In watching the Inauguration today, I was praying for the safety of our new President Obama and the safety of our country. At the end of the invocation when we prayed the Our Father, I was overwhelmed with the fact that we as a country were all praying at the same time. And what a flood of prayers must have hit the gates of heaven.
In praying our evening prayer from the Liturgy of the Hours today, one of the Intercessions were "Enlighten all legislators, to enact laws in the spirit of wisdom and justice." How appropriate this was for today more than any other day.
We have been praying every day for our new President and our country. It is in God's hands now.

I actually didn't watch the event. Figured I'd be bombarded by it in the news for the remaining week (I was right).
I am proud of America for electing a black president. It shows how color blind most of us truly are.
I know God can accomplish more in one thought than I can in a lifetime, so I'm confident He will inspire our new leader to follow His will for this country.
The President is in my prayers as well Bob. I pray some idiots does not get close enough to him to him real harm.
